Anyone who has also followed her socials has unofficially become an extended member of her family through her several posts that showcase the many different sides of her life.

However, it’s those which feature her life’s #1 priority that have captured the most attention; the one’s that highlight her son, who is so strikingly similar to his mom that he oftentimes becomes the spotlight centerpiece underneath the shadow of her big smile.

Her newest single, “Ready For The Rest,” captivatingly carries a softer paced melody that accents the varied emotions battled when she first learned that she was pregnant, facing the mirror through a soul searching, growing up moment that saw her unselfishly bettering herself for the sake of her son.

Remembering the anxiety of her rapidly racing thoughts as she wondered what she would do if the pregnancy test said yes, Curtis masterfully walks to the chorus amongst swirling emotions with a bold maturity of understanding what she needs to now do differently in her life:

“I'm gonna fix some things that I've broken

Mend the bridges between me, my mom and dad

Put truth to the lies that I've spoken

Gonna give my baby more than I ever had

I don't know how this story goes

And I'm damn sure scared but all I know

I'm ready for the rest”

The song continually tallies in such an endearing way that we feel like we’re sitting on the couch with her and flipping through the photo album of Polaroids that detail every emotional shift of her 9-month pregnancy, landing at the end result of her finally having her red-headed baby boy; and because of him, making the positive changes that her life so desperately needed so she could give him more than she ever had.

Anyone who has a child knows that being “ready for the rest” is something that’s always evolving. The way that Curtis has expertly crafted this song, it naturally progresses with her not only being mentally ready to be pregnant and to have her son, but to continually be ready for whatever will come next through all the years that follow.

While Caitlynne has consistently allowed us to sneak peek into her life, “Ready For The Rest” is clearly her most personal song to date, and it leaves you intriguingly gravitating toward wanting to know even more about her as she places the next set of pictures on the current page of the family photo album.
