ELLA LANGLEY- nicotine - Columbia Records Nashville

Over the past couple of years, Alabama native Ella Langley has put together quite an impressive country resume of contemporary country music.  Her latest tune may be her best yet, and one that will continue to propel her forward in the realm of mainstream country notoriety.  “Nicotine” is available now, both digitally and on all streaming platforms, via Columbia Records Nashville.

Written by Ella along with JoyBeth Taylor, Zachary Kale and Jon Nite, her latest effort is a relatable tale of vices and internal and emotional turmoil, comparing the addictive nature of nicotine to her irrevocable attraction for someone.

“We wrote ‘Nicotine’ about craving someone almost as much as you crave, or not more, hopefully more, than the vices that you had when you were around 20-something,” Ella shared.

A somber guitar intro and her trademark classic-sounding southern accented vocal approach, the tune immediately sets the scene for a trip down memory lane to that rebellious love that we can all remember from years ago.  It’s an ultimately heartbreaking feeling, longing for someone so much only to know they aren’t right for you.

“Be the thing that I crave so bad

Leave me wanting just a one more drag

Take my breath, make it hard to breathe

The one I want, but I just don’t need

Baby, be my nicotine”

The gifted songstress released her debut EP, ‘Excuse The Mess’ in May 2023, and teamed up with Koe Wetzel and Kameron Marlowe on “That’s Why We Fight” and “Strangers”, respectively.  Both tunes garnered praise from fans and respect from critics and fellow artists, showcasing her undeniable talent, musical maturity and artistic composure.

Since relocating to Nashville in 2019, Langley has built a name for herself in town as well as online with an impressive string of releases dating back to the likes of “If You Have To,” “Damn You”, and “Country Boy’s Dream Girl”.

Fans will have plenty of opportunities to catch Ella live throughout the year.  She is still on the road with Riley Green’s Ain’t My Last Rodeo Tour before jumping on board HARDY’s Quit!! Tour in June.  She will also be making special appearances on Luke Bryan’s Mind Of A Country Boy Tour, Morgan Wallen’s One Night At A Time Tour, and Dierks Bentley’s Gravel & Gold Tour, as well as performances at some of the biggest festivals in the country.
