KENNY CHESNEY - Just To Say We Did - Warner Music Nashville

Kenny Chesney has recorded more than 20 albums that have included over 40 Top 10 singles on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts, with 32 of those tunes reaching the No. 1 spot.  After decades of making music within the most competitive and popular genres in all of music, the East Tennessee native is still regarded as one of the biggest stars in country music.

The “King Of The Road” (as coined by the Wall Street Journal) previously announced his 2024 Sun Goes Down Tour last fall, and is dropping a new album, ‘BORN’, in March.  “Just To Say We Did”, the record’s second single, is available digitally and on all streaming platforms now via Warner Music Nashville.

“What can I say?  ‘Just To Say We Did’ sounds like me and my friends growing up, and so many people I’ve met along the way,” Chesney said.  “It’s a song where whatever it is, why not?  Get out there and live, shoot your shot, do that bucket list thing – just to say you did.  When you can boil down how to create real joy into three minutes that feels this good, I want to sing that song.”

This song is classic Chesney, from its down-to-earth, relatable nature alongside friendly guitar licks and steady beats and melodies that fall somewhere between country, pop, and the islands, with a polished, clean finish.  It’s a summertime anthem to its core, with its cleverly relevant lyrics and nostalgic vibe that will have friends, families, and concert-goers singing and dancing upon the first listen.

“Just to say we did

Just to feel alive

To take a leap of faith

To feel that kind of high

Tonight, let’s turn it up, fall in love wild

And catch enough buzz to just ride them

Crazy horses runnin’ through our heads

Just to say we did”

Following the footsteps of what fans have raved about Chesney over the years, this mid-tempo turned summer rock anthem appeals and applies to everyone on some level, and takes us back to simpler times when we lived to have fun.  It’s something that Kenny has always been able to instill in his music and thus pass onto his listeners…the notion to live life to the fullest and cherish the moments as they happen.

“Just To Say We Did” follows “Take Her Home”, the forthcoming album’s lead single and Chesney’s first new music since “Beer With My Friends” with Old Dominion in 2022.  The eight-time entertainer of the year will once again be treating fans to one of the biggest treks on the summer concert circuit, as his Sun Goes Down Tour will hit 18 cities across the U.S. featuring special guests Zac Brown Band, Megan Moroney, and Uncle Kracker.
