KENNY CHESNEY - Take Her Home - Warner Music Nashville

Kenny Chesney has recorded more than 20 albums that have included over 40 Top 10 singles on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts, with 32 of those tunes reaching the No. 1 spot.  After decades of making music within the most competitive and popular genres in all of music, the East Tennessee native is still regarded as one of the biggest stars in country music.

One of the fundamentals that undoubtedly contributes to his popularity amongst fans and respect throughout the industry is his ability to connect with his audience in a variety of levels.  Chesney’s latest release, “Take Her Home”, incorporates the elements of past chart-topping tunes in his musical catalogue to tell a down-to-earth, real-life American love story.

Released via Warner Music Nashville, Kenny’s first new tune of the year tells the tale of a couple meeting, falling in love, and experiencing life’s pivotal moments together.  From the first night they met to the day they welcomed their baby girl into the world, these two have grown up and grown older together, and the experiences they shared made them closer and more in love.

“Take her home, fall in love

Thank the good Lord up above

That He sent one down into your arms

And put a chain around your raised-hell heart

You try to play it cool walkin’ through the door

But you’re smilin’ like a fool ‘cause you can’t wait for

Them down-the-road memories you’re bound to make

And you will one day take her home”

The mid-tempo number is a circle of life song, and one that is utterly and undeniably relatable for us all on some level.  Acoustically driven and lyrically-focused, the modern country track is a love story, but less “fairytale-like” then many, offering a more realistic perspective of what it’s like to fall in love and stay in love through life’s crucial times.

Written by Zach Abend, HARDY, and Hunter Phelps, the song’s story-telling nature and honest vulnerability stole Chesney’s attention immediately, and enticed him to want to record it.

“It was everything life is made of in less than four minutes.  It’s true, honest and all the stuff that’s easy to forget,” Chesney said.  “No matter what stage you’re in, you really are always scared.  That’s how you know it’s gonna be worth it.”

Following in the footsteps of some of Chesney’s most successful singles including “The Good Stuff”, “Anything But Mine”, “There Goes My Life”, and “Don’t Blink”, his latest effort is set to be not only a hit single, but also a fan favorite.

“Take Her Home” serves as a Kenny’s first new music since “Beer With My Friends” with Old Dominion in 2022.  And while his last full-length album was 2020’s ‘Here And Now’, plenty of murmurs suggest that could change in 2024.

Earlier this month, the eight-time entertainer of the year announced his Sun Goes Down 2024 Tour for next summer; Featuring Zac Brown Band, Megan Moroney, and Uncle Kracker, will hit stadiums in 18 cities across the country.
