LAINEY WILSON - Wildflowers & Wild Horses - Broken Bow Records

Newly crowned CMA Entertainer of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year Lainey Wilson has released her latest single.  Following a fiery performance of the song in front of peers, industry professionals and millions of fans across the country on November 8th, the award-winning singer-songwriter is offering the tune to the masses.  “Wildflowers and Wild Horses” is available digitally and on all streaming platforms now via Broken Bow Records.

The tune is the latest release from her album of the year-winning ‘Bell Bottom Country’, which features previous hit singles “Watermelon Moonshine”, “Heart Like A Truck”, and “Smell Like Smoke”.

Written by Wilson along with Paul Sikes and Trannie Anderson, “Wildflowers and Wild Horses” finds Lainey reflecting on her country roots while declaring her emotional durability and fortitude to succeed.  The twangy, aggressively subdued guitar riffs set the scene for the outlaw-inspired track, which paints a perfect picture of who Wilson is, what she stands for, and what she values as a person and a musician.

“I’m four-fifths of reckless and one-fifth of jack

I push like a daisy through old sidewalk cracks

Yeah, my kinda crazy’s still running its courses with

Wildflowers and wild horses”

Slowly building momentum through each verse and chorus, it’s extremely well written, and its expert craftsmanship showcases a perfect mutual complimentary relationship between the musical arrangement, lyrics, and vocal delivery.  From start to finish, “Wildflowers and Wild Horses” is yet another example of how talented Lainey Wilson is as a songwriter, singer, and recording artist.

Wilson debuted the song publicly on-stage at the CMA Awards, for which she was the most-nominated of the night.  Her performance showcased her show-stopping stage presence as well as her fondness for and heavily influenced western lifestyle.  The tune drew a standing ovation from the audience, which may have only been surpassed by the reaction to her winning the coveted Entertainer of the Year award at the end of the night.

“I’ve been in this town for 12 and a half years, and it finally feels like country music starting to love me back,” she said while accepting the award.  “I love it with my whole heart”.

Late last month, Lainey announced her Country’s Cool Again Tour for 2024.  The trek will kick off on May 31, 2024 in Nashville, hitting more than 35 markets and closing out in Monroe, LA, near Wilson’s hometown of Baskin.  The tour will feature direct support from Jackson Dean, Ian Munsick, and Zach Top.
