JON PARDI & LUKE BRYAN - Cowboys And Plowboys - Capitol Records Nashville
We at Today’s Country Magazine always love it when two country music stars join forces and release a single together. Jon Pardi and Luke Bryan have released a duet, dedicated to some of the hardest-working people out there that often go unrecognized. “Cowboys And Plowboys” is available digitally and on all streaming platforms now via Capital Records Nashville.
A self-proclaimed anthem for those who serve as the backbone of the United States (and beyond), this is an upbeat, catchy song paying homage, musically and materially, to the elements of traditional 90’s country. The beat, the riffs, and the twang all lend itself to times of the past, taking the listener to a more conventional period in the genre’s history. As we all know, “country” is not just a style of music; it’s a lifestyle. And this tune taps into that intellectual framework, painting a picture and recognizing those who live their life with the morals, values, and traditions of that time.
And while it’s not a party song or a drinking anthem, that certainly doesn’t mean it’s not catchy. This is a head-bobbing, toe-tapping good time, complete with deliciously heavy beat accompanying the sing-along lyrics, delivered perfectly by Pardi and Bryan, whose trademark twang and southern charm are on full displays as they swoon and croon their way throughout the track.
“Cowboys and plowboys
Just some good old small town boys
Both make the world go ‘round boys
Boy, ain’t that the truth?
Yeah, we got different roots, we were different boots
But we ain’t that different when the day is through
So, here’s to the cowboys and plowboys like me and you”
The tune serves as the first new music from Pardi since his ‘Mr. Saturday Night’ album, released in September 2022. The collection featured a stretch of impressive single performances, headlined by the smash hits “Late Night Lonely” and “Your Heart Or Mine”.
Jon has been busy on the road in 2023, and still has nearly two dozen dates schedule between now and the end of the year. He is also set to be inducted into the Grand Ole Opry and will be releasing a Christmas record title ‘Merry Christmas From Jon Pardi’.
Bryan’s COUNTRY ON TOUR has enjoyed renowned success as it has sold out arenas and amphitheaters from coast to coast in 2023. With just three dates remaining on that trek, Luke will head to Sin City for a Las Vegas residency from December 29 through January 6th before heading to Mexico for his annual Crash My Playa festival. His current single, “But I Got A Beer In My Head”, is climbing both the charts and country radio.
