As has been the case for nearly every aspiring artist who moves to Nashville, TN with the dream of becoming a country music star, Kelsey Hart began cutting his teeth as a songwriter, playing writer’s rounds and penning tunes for other established acts.  But unlike most, the Central City, KY native has made himself into one of the more promising rising talents in the genre, as a writer, singer, and performer.

His latest tune, “Country In Business,” is available now digitally and on all streaming platforms.  The blue-collar anthem is an ode to the “country boy” way of life, from what they do to what they love, and everything in between.

Hart wrote the song along with Blake Bollinger and Mason Thornley, blending elements of country and rock to showcase a heavy-hitting anthem for the working class.  The “work hard, play harder” mentality is at the forefront of this unapologetic backyard head banger.

Droppin’ paychecks on women

That’s us with a buck in a truck bed

Sticker on the side says 4x4

We’re the ones burnin’ up the moonlight

Spendin’ our hard work on a good time

Way out past them city limits

We keepin’ country in business”

And while the melody and vibe, along with the infectious aggressive lyrics may steal the headlines initially, what shouldn’t be overlooked Hart’s vocal ability.  This guy can sing, and his vocal range and control are on full display while his ability to temper through the verses and exert power as the chorus drops gives the song that much more emotional impact.  From the songwriting to the singing to the delivery, Kelsey is a unique talent who is still tapping into his seemingly unlimited potential.

While continuing to introduce himself to the wider country music audience as an established recording artist, Kelsey has been a highly regarded songwriter almost immediately upon his arrival in Music City, penning cuts for the likes of Jake Owen and Trace Adkins.  Since signing with Curb Records, Hart has released four tunes.  “Country In Business” follows previously released fan favorites “6-Pack Gone,” “Drink About Me,” and “4x4,” all of which encompass his genre-bending brand of traditionally modern country music.
