With each new song over the past year, Australian native Zoee has continually blended her uniqueness within an overall sound that has balanced a modern infused 90’s country branding with elements that touch the tip of the crossover pop that’s inspired her along the way.

However, as she’s skillfully crafted her defining characteristics, each new release has also seen her peeling back another intriguing layer of her songwriting prowess and the know-how within her vocal to move the listener along the heartbeat of the melody and into the feels that she’s reaching for within her lyrics and precise delivery.

We now see that trend continue with her brand-new song, “Coastline Time.”

Where so many summer songs in country music rely solely on being party anthems for the warmer weather months, Zoee instead sits her vocal atop a float on the breeze melody to fully encompass the carefree escape that only a trip to the beach can provide.

Instantly painting the picture of a much needed slow down on the craziness of life, she places us in the passenger seat on her ride to the coast on the back of a very well-placed line in the opening verse, “feels nice driving in the slow lane,” before popping into the chorus where she reveals her coastline time solution to getting recentered:

“I need a little coastline time

Sittin’ in the sand, sun in my eyes

White waves crashing paper kites dancing

With the warm wind in a pastel sky

Call up a couple friends of mine

Beach bonfire split a bottle of wine

Stars in the sky shining on the high tide

All I know is I need a little coastline time”

The second verse then sees her providing ways in list like fashion that her soul is healed at the beach when she speaks of how the ebb and flow within the tumbling surf always humbles her as her mindset begins to shift when she sings of leaving stress behind in the city lights to embrace the unbridled peacefulness of being oceanside.

By craftily never revealing what it is that has her needing this coastline escape, Zoee has allowed the listener to get lost within her voice as they envision being beachside with her, letting go of whatever it is that’s providing stress within their own lives to resonate the song with a very strong connection factor that makes it become the three-minute escape that soothes their own soul.
