TENILLE TOWNES
"Girl Who Didn't Care"
Columbia Records
Alberta, Canada native Tenille Townes released her brand new single, “Girl Who Didn’t Care”, to country radio on June 25th via Columbus Nashville in partnership with RCA Records.
The song is driven heavily on the guitar lead, taking a sentimental yet almost regretful look at the world through the eyes of a child. As we grow up, we lose the innocence of how we see the world. We are often told how we should see the world, worrying about what other people think and fall in line with how others feel we should live our lives.
“I wanna worry a little less, love a little more
Barefoot in a dress, dancing on the floor
Like I did back when, when I was younger
Making up the songs playing in my head
Didn’t matter what anybody said
Didn’t need to be like all the others
Giant dreams and wild hair
Yeah, I know I’m still in there somewhere
The girl who didn’t care”
Townes is a two time ACM Award-winning singer, named New Female Artist of the Year at the 55th award ceremony. Her critically acclaimed debut album, ‘The Lemonade Stand’, featured the hit tracks “White Horse”, “Jersey on the Wall (I’m Just Asking)”, “The Most Beautiful Things”, and “Come as You Are”.
Having already hit the road with the likes of Miranda Lambert, Alan Jackson, and Little Big Town, Tenille will once again hit the road on a highly anticipated tour with Brothers Osborne this summer and fall for their We’re Not For Everyone Tour.
