One of the most common themes of a country music song centers around love.  Whether it’s fast-paced and up-beat or stripped down and somber, everyone can relate to a love song.  But does a love song HAVE to be about another person? Dylan Scott says no!

The multi-platinum country star has released his first new music of 2023.  “This Town’s Been Too Good To Us” is available everywhere now via Curb Records.

The radio-friendly and soon-to-be fan-favorite is an ode to the singer’s hometown.  It’s a song of gratitude and sincere admiration for a place that made him the man he is today.  The memories, lessons, and experiences during the special and pivotal “coming-of-age” moments in one’s life are those we never forget.

At times, we may take things for granted and not realize how fortunate we are to be in the situation that we find ourselves in.  This song is a reflection of nostalgia, acknowledging that place and that time in his life was unforgettable and crucial to his upbringing and his maturation as a person.

Lyrically, this song is exactly what we have come to expect from Dylan’s music.  It’s a home-grown tune with relatable, down-to-earth descriptions.  The verses focus on how life was growing up in that town and how, at times, it was seen as boring and matter-fact, as well as often under-appreciated.

“Good people in a back row pew

Good dirt that the corn grows through

Good water that can wash away our sins

Good times with some damn good friends”

His thoughts then come full circle as the song progresses through the chorus, climaxing with the tune’s hook and moment of realization.

“Man, what were we thinking when we said we’d leave it in a cloud of dust

This town’s been too good to us”

To date, Scott has tallied three No. 1 singles (“My Girl”, “Nobody”, and “New Truck”) as well as a Top 5 hit, “Hooked”.  The 2023 ACM New Male Artist Of the Year nominee’s music has been streamed over 2 billion times due to the success of his ‘Nothing To Do Town’ EP and more recently, his ‘LIvin’ My Best Life’ album from 2022.

In addition to releasing his first new music of the year, Dylan is on the road throughout the rest of 2023, playing the country’s biggest festivals and special events, while also headlining his own “This Town’s Been Too Good To Us” with openers Matt Schuster and Tayler Holder.
