If having to describe who Jacob Bryant is in just one word, that word would be authentic.

He consistently strikes his lyrics by walking the built-in rasp of his voice alongside a raw honesty that endearingly makes you listen and connect, whether it’s when he touches on his frustrating struggles within the confines of the music industry or through the transparency that he’s shown on several songs that speak directly to his daily battle to overcome past demons.

We naturally learn what truly matters and what truly doesn’t as we grow in life, and that’s the encouragingly refreshing focus of his newest release, “Keepin’ On.”

The middle of the road tempo embedded into the melody combines with the prominent lace of steel guitar through the backing instrumentation to touch on his traditional bent aura and allow him plenty of room to let his voice hold the power of the lyric.

Appreciatively taking us through everyday scenarios that are all too often are overlooked, Jacob first reminds us that the lights coming on in the two-bedroom apartment you call home are both true blessings that should act as the catalyst to your motivation, before then expertly flipping the focus to what he himself lives day in and day out - his music path!

Focusing each of the subsequent verses on the different things that he experiences while out on the road that keep pushing him forward, ranging from the girl in the front row singing along with his songs to his name being in lights back in his hometown, Bryant continues to lean on his career trajectory when he hits the chorus with the underlying truth factors as to why he keeps navigating the music industry’s muddy waters :

“And ohh ohh, guess this old guitar still rings

And ohh ohh, and that makes me want to stay for a while

And put a few more miles under my belt, see what sells

Try to do it like nobody else, sing my songs and just keep on

Keepin' on”

In many ways “Keepin’ On” is a song that shines light on the positive aspects to his own motivation, but it’s also one that shows how the conscious recognition of what matters most has only come through the ability within his mindset to find silver linings along the way and hold tightly to them with hope as the waves get choppy.
