Joe Nichols has enjoyed a country music residence that dates back to some of the most popular releases of the 2000’s.  And, with the release of his 2022 album, ‘Good Day For Living’, it seems the hitmaker is once again revolutionizing his career with another collection of songs that is resonating with fans and keeping his star power shining bright.

His latest single, “Brokenhearted”, is available now on all streaming platforms and at radio via Quartz Hill Records.

Following the album’s title track as well as the second single “I Wanna Be Your Tonight” which is currently impacting at radio, “Brokenhearted” is an ironic twist on the state of country music, complaining about the style of music that is, in term, descriptive of the song he’s singing.

“This is a country song that makes fun of the very thing that it is,” Nichols stated.  “It feels like a party song and the lyric is making fun of party songs.”

Throughout the upbeat, catchy track, Joe talks about how it seems like all songs today are just about having a good time and partying, and there aren’t any songs about heartbreak.

“Ain’t no cryin’ in your beer

Ain’t no she walked out the door

Ain’t nobody brokenhearted

In country music anymore”

The ironic twist of a song that features a head-bobbing, toe-tapping melody longing for more a somber undertone is something that only a few artists could pull off successfully…and Joe Nichols is one of those artists.

Written by John Hardin, Marv Green, and Rhett Akins, the tune is the latest example of Nichols’ ability to stay true to his trademark sound and musical integrity while remaining relevant with the current state of the genre and offering something new, not just for his fans, but for the wide country music audience as well.

Joe has been a mainstay and a household name in country music for more than 20 years, achieving six No. one singles, multiple RIAA platinum and gold certifications, along with three Grammy nominations, a CMA Award, and an ACM award, among other countless accolades.

In addition to the release of his brand new single, Nichols is also on the road throughout the summer, playing some of the biggest festivals in the country as well as gigs at fairs and venues across the U.S. through September.
