Is there a more talented and promising young singer-songwriter in country music that is flying under the radar in Nashville than Tyra Madison?  We plead the 5^th!

The Kentucky native and blonde bombshell songstress has released her latest tune, “Plead The 5^th”, which is available on all streaming platforms now. 

Written by Tyra along with Stephanie Joyce and Mary Heather Hickman, the tune tells the tale of committing a crime against her love but denying it after-the-fact. 

“I’ve always wanted to write a story-telling song and have been inspired by movies,” Tyra shared.  “I’m a crime show junkie!”

And just like a crime show, “Plead The 5^th” portrays her as an abused and mistreated woman who has taken matters into her own hands to escape a horrible situation. Faced with the impending implications of those actions, she decides to deny responsibility and exercises her right to be silent.

The clever and crafty lyrics paint the picture and set the scene perfectly, putting the listener right in the middle of a true-crime story.

“One rose for every black eye

I heard “I’m sorry” too many times

Three years, I didn’t speak up

So for one more day I can keep my mouth shut”

Madison’s vocals are strong yet controlled, brave but also vulnerable, angry yet subdued.  The ability for her to display each of those elements through the duration of one song further illustrates just how talented she is as a singer. 

Having declared that she has been inspired by the likes of Carrie Underwood and Maren Morris, the Pine Top, KY native and Belmont University alum is establishing herself as a must-see performer, intuitive songwriter, and powerhouse vocalist.

To date, Tyra’s music has accumulated over 12 million streams across all digital service platforms.  She has shared the stage with the likes of Maddie & Tae, Priscilla Block, and Ernest, among others, while landing her music on some of the more exclusive playlists on Spotify and Apple Music.  With the look, sound, and talent of a true star, Tyra Madison is a name that all of country music will be knowing very soon.
