Country music star Lainey Wilson has released her next official radio single from her ‘Bell Bottom Country’ album.  “Watermelon Moonshine” is available on all streaming platforms now via Broken Bow Records.

Written by Wilson along with Josh Kear and Jordan Schmidt, the tune finds the Louisiana native right in her comfort zone, soulfully delivering unapologetically honest lyrics with her charming, down-home country demeanor.

“Watermelon Moonshine” is a story about young love, with innocence and ignorance at the forefront of the unknown precedence of the thoughts and feelings experienced in a relationship.  This song is utterly relatable and offers an undeniable sense of nostalgia, taking us, the listeners, back to our own lives and the memories we have of our first love.  These emotions can often feel overwhelming and complicated, and Lainey excels at portraying the sentiments as pure and simplistic as possible.

“Parkin’ back in them kudzu vines

I was his and every bit of that boy was mine

Too young to know what love was

But we were learnin’ on a sweet buzz

There’s never nothin’ like the first time, and mine’s always gonna taste like

Watermelon moonshine”

The lyrics are captivating and place the listener in the mind of the singer while allowing the escape to personal memory.  Vocally, Lainey effortlessly delivers once again, with her trademark down-home power and soul to which we can all relate and appreciate.

“Watermelon Moonshine” is the next radio single following her #1 hit “Heart Like A Truck”.  The success of that tune, along with her collaborations with Hardy on “Wait In The Truck” and Cole Swindell on “Never Say Never”, have collectively made her a household name for country music fans.

It would be difficult to find a busier artist on the country music circuit in 2023 than Wilson.  In addition to her dates as a special guest on Luke Combs’ World Tour, Lainey will also be playing at fairs, festivals, and arenas as well as on the mockingbird & THE CROW Fall Tour with Hardy and Dylan Marlowe through the end of the year.
