CCB Nashville had a banner year in 2022 with their ambitious #newmusicfriday initiative that saw them releasing new music every week from their talented artist roster; Jamey D, RT Johnson, Megan Mullins Owen, Rusty VanSickle, and flagship artist, Cash Creek.

With those offerings now becoming the compilations of the full albums from those artists, CCB Nashville begins to introduce us to their next chapter with the release of “Redneck Royalty,” the debut single from new signee Trent Prewitt.

Hailing from Springfield, MO and just a stone throw away from Branson, Prewitt is naturally influenced by the ideals of the country music that paved the way as he leans into a 90’s branded sounded that is both refreshing and modern touched in just the right ways so that it walks alongside what’s happening on today’s Top 40 chart.

Leaning that crisp 90’s country aura into a swampy, backwoods drive through the intro, immediately grips the listener into the insatiable muddy, boot stomping rhythm as Prewitt drops his drawl-filled voice into the autobiographical, introductory song as he holds tight to the self-placed tag of being the “poster boy for country.”

In a listing of his country boy cred through each of the verses, he descriptively sings of “country” traits such as cooking up moonshine, breathing in the country air while sitting on the front porch swing, and listening to the crickets sing, while exclaiming that he’s a Copenhagen chewing, John Deere cap wearing, partying in a cotton field type.

Placing spotlight on his bloodline in the hook of the chorus, “I come from a long long line of redneck royalty,” allows Prewitt to give definition to his I am what I am attitude as he embraces the idea of being born into this type of down-home country lifestyle, metaphorically stamping down his small-town, country map dot through the values and morals of where he comes from.

With an addictive flare that’s built for a Friday night dancefloor embedded into the tempo driven melody, Prewitt grips tightly to his influences to introduce who he is, both musically and personality, while intriguingly holding the listener’s interest to make them want to hear what’s next from him.
