Singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and official member of the Zac Brown Band, Caroline Jones has released,  “Superpower”, the title track to her upcoming EP, available now via Empire Nashville and streaming on all platforms.

In her latest release, the songwriter and musician turned full-fledged recording artist explores the thoughts, feelings and emotions as one experiences the consequences of striving for achievement.  From start to finish, using poetic inferences, she is asking if the journey to self-assessment and growth is worth the sacrifice?

In a sense, Jones is having a conversation with herself.  She’s asking questions and attempting to answer them herself, being honest and true, and wondering “am I selling out if I re-calibrate” and “is it weakness or strength”?

These are questions everyone has about themselves at some point in our lives, but at times, we feel isolated and alone and wonder if we are alone with those thoughts. The bluesy undertones of this song, while lyrically, it focuses on the unknown and internal turmoil, also presents a sense of hope indirectly.  Despite the uncertainty of the consequences of the choices she has made, she realizes that this is who she is and she can’t deny that to herself.

“And yet, in my heart I can’t settle for less

I know my potential for greatness

I guess I have no choice but to

Reach for the farthest stars

Make a mark or a mess”

Musically and lyrically, this song represents the brilliance that we have come to expect from this talented songstress.  The ability to articulate and invoke feelings and emotions from the listener through the melody and lyrics independently is a gift unique and exclusive to the top tier of talent in the music industry.  Jones once again delivers with “Superpower”, from the guitar intro to the harmonizing piano accompaniment, it’s an immaculate listen.  Of course, her vocals fall nothing short of beautiful, showing her full repertoire of power, range, and confidence.

Caroline’s third EP, ‘Superpower’, is due out on May 19.  In addition to previously released tracks “Lawless” and “Keep It Safe” with Alyssa Bonagura, the five-song release also features “By Way Of Sorrow”, featuring Vince Gill.  Along with touring the country on Zac Brown Band’s headlining tour this summer, she will also be playing her own shows through the fall.
