Ever since the release of her smash hit “F-150,” Canadian country artist Robyn Ottolini has been regarded as one of the more promising, exciting, and talented artists on the music scene.  Her latest release, “Match For My Memory”, her first through her new distribution deal with Empire, is available now on all streaming platforms.

Co-written by Ottolini along with Emily Reid, the tune is an honest account of the thoughts and sentiments felt and experienced following the end of a relationship, and how we sometimes try to erase the memories that invoke those emotions.

As Robyn says herself, “this song is a reminder to anyone who’s had someone leave them that you actually think are important and unforgettable”.

Throughout the verses, the song lyrically paints a picture of the tangible items that can be eliminated, but the everlasting memories and emotional reminders can never be erased or forgotten.  The power of the mind and heart cannot be scathed by the loss of physical items, and the effort to do so is done in vain and in failure.

Robyn sets the scene of an ex who is leaving town, seeing other people, and destroying heirlooms of their relationship, but in the end, it is all a futile attempt to move on.

“But you can’t incinerate what you keep on reminiscing

There’s no getting away from every thought of me

Everything that we had you can turn it to ash

But there’s no match for my memory”

This song will hit close to home for many, as over time, most of us have endured a relationship that had a bitter ending.  This is not a fantasy or a fairy tale.  This is real life stuff as told through someone who has experienced the same and is telling her story through honest lenses.  Songs like “Match For My Memory” are exactly why country music continues to garner new fans every day.

2023 is well on its way to being another life-changing year for Ottolini, who will embark on the eastern leg of Shania Twain’s “Queen Of Me” Canadian tour in June.  In recent years, she has propelled herself as shining star on the country scene, totaling over 100 million global streams while scoring hits with the platinum-certified “F-150” and gold-certified “Tell You Everything”.   With new music continuing to fill country music airwaves and tour dates rolling in, the sky appears to be the limit for Robyn.
