There just simply isn’t another artist on the country music circuit today who is making as tremendous strides and creating as much buzz as Warner Music Nashville recording artist Chase Matthew.

Last month saw the rising star checking off a dream moment when he made his Grand Ole Opry debut, simultaneously as his song “Love You Again” is earning heavy rotation at radio and he continues to solidify his amazing fanbase with hot song releases, “The Way I Am,” “Hey Montana,” and his newest, “Come Get Your Memory,” the title track of his ambitious 25-song sophomore album (due out June 9, 2023).

Sticking to the ultra-modern, mid-tempo drive that he’s become known for, Matthew continues to deliver catchy hooks and melodies that wrap around heart break lyrics and sing transparently of the struggles with trying to move on.

Taking us straight into the self-torture that memories can drum up through our own imagination, he sings of still seeing his ex fixin’ her makeup by the bathroom sink, her wine tipsy smile smiling at him, and her dress on the floor even though it’s no longer there.

He leads us out of the opening verse by lamenting that while she’s thought she cleaned out the entire place when she left, there’s one thing that she forgot to take with her…her memory!

In what is essentially a therapy like session, he frustratingly punches the chorus as he cries out, pleading with her to come and get the memories that she’s left behind while relenting that they aint’ like her because they’re still hanging around, that they’re a heartbreak that ain’t slowing down, and that they won’t let him just forget about her.

The second verse sees him staying squarely in memory mode as he relives the moments that she walked out, painting perfect pictures of it when he sings:

“You loaded down that white Toyota

With all your dresses and jeans

You even sold the sofa, but you didn’t even leave me

A hairpin or picture in this empty house”

What makes a song like this so strong, and what has become the defining signature for Chase over each recent release, is how he skillfully pulls us into an exact moment of personal brokenness and delivers it vocally in such a way that it reaches the hearts of everyone experiencing the same emotions to capture them in a warm embrace that lets them know they aren’t alone in their hurt.

Proudly wearing the tag as one of country music’s most promising new artists, Chase Matthew is absolutely on the verge of catapulting his success story to incredible new heights and he’s taking all of us along for the ride on the back of an extremely humble personality, impactful song releases, and a strong connection with the listeners through every avenue available -  the music, his socials, and whenever meeting him in person during any given tour stop!
