Fast-rising country starlet Caylee Hammack has released her latest single. “History Of Repeating” is available now on all streaming services via Capitol Records Nashville.

Co-written by Hammack along with Ashley McBryde and Nicolette Hayford, the song tells the tale of coping with heartbreak and how we tend to lean on past demons and unhealthy coping mechanisms when we are at our most emotionally vulnerable state.  Upon listening to the track, it is apparent there is a personal twist for the writer, one that Caylee has confirmed.

“Love is my weakness, my kryptonite even”, she shares.  “This song is a very honest admission of some bad decisions that I think anyone can relate to making…those decisions sometimes we repeat, even though we know it’s not what is best for us”.

There is a lot of parody in the music industry today, and what listeners are often longing for is relatability.  Whether it is a light-hearted song or an emotionally toiling tune, we want to be able to connect with the subject matter.  Unfortunately, heartache and heartbreak are all too common for a lot of us or have been in the past, and “History Of Repeating” paints an accurate picture of how the damaged state of a heart and impaired mind can motivate us to behave in ways we shouldn’t.

Caylee’s vocals are beautifully on-point, perfectly matching the vibe and somber mood of the musical arrangement.  Lyrically, the song is written as a sad poem of heartache.  The relatable words flow out of her effortlessly, and her bold vocal power is subdued and unleashed at all the right times.

“Home, I should find a way of getting home

But home is where the heart is and it’s broke

And I’ll be, too, by the time I get over you”

Hammack released her debut album, ‘If It Wasn’t For You’, in August 2020 to high and well-deserved praise from fans, critics and media alike.  The record featured standout singles “Family Tree” and “Justin Friends”, while also leading her to ACM nominations for New Female Artist Of The year in both 2020 and 2021.  Her appearance on Miranda Lambert’s “Fooled Around and Fell in Love” won Music Event Of The Year at the 2020 ACM’s.

“History of Repeating” is the second track from Hammack’s forthcoming sophomore album.  In addition to headlining gigs and dates at select festivals, she will also be supporting Dierks Bentley on his ‘Gravel & Gold Tour’ at various shows in Florida and California this summer.
