KINSEY ROSE
"Speed of a Broken Heart"
Independent Release
“If you want to make it in country music, Nashville is where you have to be”.
Have you ever heard that before? Louisville, KY native Kinsey Rose is a prime example of that mindset. She has just released her brand new single, “Speed of a Broken Heart”, available on all streaming platforms now.
A twangy, somewhat throwback version of a country music tune with speckles of modern vibes, the heartbreaker serves as a healing remedy for Kinsey, who penned the tune while ending a long-term relationship.
Co-written by Rose along with Marcus Hummon and Chris Roberts, the song is lyrically about grief, anger, betrayal, and heartbreak. For those of us who have experience heartache, this presents the reminder that we are allowed to be angry and sad, but it shouldn’t stop of us from having the courage to move forward. It is a message of inspiration and support, and one that will resonate long after the first listen.
“Seven years gone that I ain’t gettin’ back
Threw a knife at the wall just to watch it crack
It’s too late to fix, the damage is done
And you can’t resurrect the setting sun
Livin’ life at the speed of a broken heart”
Musically, this song is a bit of a rocker with influences of traditional twang and modern flair, just enough to keep the heads bobbing and toes tapping throughout. It’s catchy and powerful, it’s aggressive yet vulnerable. The hooks and riffs hit in all the right places, a perfect tune to turn up loud and escape through the sing-along anthem-infused vocals.
Having started writing songs at the age of just 10 years old, she moved to Music City after high school and continued writing and performing whenever possible. She was a regular on Lower Broadway and spent over a decade honing her craft and independently advancing her career as a singer-songwriter. Having signed a record deal with New Day Records as part of the Gospel group HighRoad, she has also released two full-length country albums, ‘Honky Tonk Treasures’ and ‘Fairweather Love’.
Of course, the national audience was first introduced to Kinsey Rose during her appearance on Season 21 of NBC’s “The Voice”. The exposure has even furthered her reputation and notoriety as a truly gifted singer-songwriter with much to offer the country music genre. With a beautiful voice and a creative musical mind, Rose will be gaining a large number of new fans with the release of “Speed of a Broken Heart”.
