“I think we all have that time in our life that will remain forever perfect in our hearts.  Sometimes we wish we could just stay there and never leave”.

These words, spoken by frontman Matthew Ramsey, set the precedent for “Memory Lane”, the new single by multiple-platinum, chart-topping Old Dominion.  The tune, out now via Arista Nashville / Sony Music Nashville, centers around the notion of taking one’s mind to memories of simpler times when you’re feeling overwhelmed, missing someone, or even feeling a little sentimental.

Written by Ramsey along with bandmates Trevor Rosen and Brad Tursi along with Jessie Jo Dillon, “Memory Lane” gained a lot of social media traction after it was previewed on TikTok.  Highlighting the unforgettable aspects of a lost love, the song reminisces on past relationships through nostalgic lenses.

“Thinkin’ ‘bout those sunsets that bled into jean jacket nights

Those tangled up mornings lost in paradise

Still drunk on the feeling when I close my eyes

You’re pulling me closer, your head on my shoulder

We’d never let go and we’d never be over”

As usual, Ramsey’s vocals perfectly illustrate the mood and vibe of the song, while the poetic lyrics make it easy to resonate with the listener while enabling the desire to sing along almost immediately.

The current ACM Group of the Year and CMA Vocal Group of the Year can seemingly do no wrong, with every song they write and every release they offer turning to gold, this latest tune promises to fall right in line with what we have all come to expect from this award-winning group over the years.

“Memory Lane” is Old Dominion’s first offering of new music since this past summer’s “Beer With My Friends” with Kenny Chesney.  The multi-platinum outfit will kick off their highly anticipated No Bad Vibes Tour later this month, promising to be one of the better and more widely renowned treks of the year.
