Country music star and multi-platinum recording artist Brantley Gilbert is continuing to introduce fans to his ‘So Help Me God’ album with the release of his newest single, “Heaven By Then”.  The tune is an ode to the more traditional way of life, a “wish list” of items he wants to remain a part of every day life, even though the modern world may be playing a role in deteriorating those customs, beliefs, and rituals.

The tune was co-written with Brock Berryhill, Michael Hardy, Jake Mitchell, Randy Montana, Hunter Phelps, and Taylor Phillips, and includes two very special guests – Blake Shelton and Vince Gill.

“To have Blake Shelton and Vince Gill on the song meant so much to me”, Gilbert shared.  “Those two brought so much to the table and gave it a voice I didn’t have.  We were all in separate places when we recorded, but it was a cool way for everyone to put their spin on it.  They just did what felt natural and sonically you hear that.”

‘So Help Me God’ was released on November 10 via the Valory Music Co., and represents a bit of a different approach to the individual songwriting and album-building process for Gilbert.  While his past records were inspired by direct chapters from his life, this latest effort is a self-proclaimed collective mixtape of great songs.  And that vibe is no better represented than on this single, which includes two monster special guests alongside Brantley singing the lyrics about the country way of life in each of their trademark vocal deliveries.

No, I don’t wanna go today but I don’t wanna live

Down here at a place that thinks that that place don’t exist

There comes a day this country’s somewhere country don’t fit in

Hell, I hope I’m in heaven by then

In addition to the release of his album grabbing headlines, Gilbert is also part of one of the more unique tours in recent memory, as he is on the road with rock outfit Five Finger Death Punch, hitting arenas across the country through mid-December.
