As CCB Nashville plows toward the final turn of 2022, they continue to impress with their incredibly ambitious #newmusicfriday initiative, which has seen the consistent release of brand-new music every week from one of their talented artist roster: Megan Mullins Owen, RT Johnson, Jamey D, Rusty Van Sickle, and the label’s flagship artist/owners, Cash Creek

As it has been all year long, the second Friday of the month gives us a new song from Cash Creek, and this week they return with “Big Loud Love Song.”

Though their last release, “Bumpin’ & Grindin’,” saw Monty DeVita slide back into the lead vocal position and give us a flavor that veered left of what we’ve grown accustomed to from Cash Creek in that it wasn’t a straight ahead love song, “Big Loud Love Song” sees them returning to the love theme that they’ve done so well all year.

What Cash Creek has managed to do best is place such a varied balance in tempo and style that instrumentally surrounds their love song output this year, that each new song gives us a fresh, exciting feel on an idea that’s been done twice over in country music. That trend continues with “Big Loud Love Song.”

With lyrics that will make any gal swoon, Kimo Forrest returns to the lead vocals on this feel good, midtempo groove as he opens his personal life and allows us to peek inside as he takes us into what is presumably a late night in his home recording studio that sees him working on a song about his better half - while doing his best not to wake her.

However, try as he might, the more he writes and thinks about the awesome relationship that they share, the more he excitedly begins to sing louder and louder.

The chorus paints an amazing picture as he sings about one specific “love song” moment so vividly that it brings the listener straight into the time stop memory with him:

“I can hear your heart pumping to the backbeat

Coming out of my old truck

Playing air guitar, dancing in your bare feet

Telling me to turn it up, so you can sing along

To a big loud love song”

Though the second verse mentions her wearing her heart out on her sleeve, Forrest clearly wears his on his sleeve as well as we see him praising the unique things that make her who she is that he loves about her so much, such as the way she always speaks her mind and how proud she is to call him hers.

Cash Creek are no strangers to the country music industry. Their members are part of touring bands for some of the genre’s icons, they’ve earned accolades for their crisp, studio musicianship, and they’ve released well-received original music for over a decade. But 2022 has been a revitalized year for the super group that in many ways has intriguingly redefined themselves and elevated their already heightened status up another notch.
