Parker Graye continues to make a name for herself in the independent country music scene.  Her latest release, “Good At Gettin’ Gone”, serves as the latest installment of an ever-growing musical catalogue that showcases her undeniable talent as a singer, songwriter, and collaborator.

Co-written by Graye along with Kate Malone and Tori Tullier, “Good At Gettin’ Gone” tells the tale of a relationship’s confusing ending and the thoughts, feelings, and emotions that generate when trying to navigate one’s way through the reasons behind the breakup and the next steps necessary to move on in a healthy matter.

As has been the case with previous releases, the idea for this song was inspired by one of Parker’s real-life breakups.

“The idea for this song came shortly after a break-up that initially I didn’t know was a break-up”, she shares.  “When it came to this relationship, we had a talk but things were left quite up in the air, no real “goodbye” and certainly no clear ending.”

Parker has, at times, made light of her past relationships in interviews and discussions, but the truth is, she wears her heart on her sleeve when songwriting, and the end result is candidly impressive.  Her gifts as a songwriter coupled with her emotional honesty set the stage for some of the more genuinely expressive interpretation not just on the independent scene, but in country music altogether.

The ability to use one’s own thoughts and emotions and convey them in a manner than can apply to anyone else’s while still staying true to yourself is not an easy thing to do.  But as we have seen in the past and continue to see with this new single, Graye is well on her way to mastering this craft.

“Good At Gettin’ Gone” is the second single off her debut EP, ‘Just Another Heartbreak’.  It follows previous singles “Last Rodeo” and “Cowboys Go”, the latter of which was released in November 2021 having tallied 125,000 cumulative streams.
