With the abundance of aspiring artists on the country music circuit, it is easy for most to get lost in the crowd in Music City.  But for some, a very select few, they are infused with a unique set of musical skills, talent, and motivational grit that makes their star shine a little brighter than others.

One of the more promising singer-songwriters on the independent music scene, Bailey James, has released her new single, “Better Angels”.

Written by nineteen-year-old Bailey and produced by Leland Grant, the song garnered the talented songstress a spot as a finalist in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest.  The tune is a retrospective account of mistakes from one’s past and finding peace through grief, somberness, and acceptance.

Musically, the song is beautiful.  It’s a soft but catchy melody, showcasing James’ ability to capture the mood and vibe of the track’s subject matter exclusively through the instrumentation without a single word being sung.  The somber musical undertones provide a spectacularly mournful canvas for Bailey’s vocals to take center stage, taking the listener through her thoughts, feelings, and emotions on a spiritually poetic lyrical journey.

Still a teenager and yet so utterly talented well beyond her years, Bailey James has become a name of a fast-rising, incredibly gifted songstress, effectively able to blend elements of blues, rock-n-roll, and soul into her own country music sound.

From making a splash in front of national audiences on American Idol 2019 to garnering over 250,000 fans across her social media platforms, James is becoming more widely renowned by the day as not only a great singer and songwriter, but also a multi-genre guitarist and one of the more harder-working and tenaciously motivated young artists in country music.
