And as she unveils selections from her musical catalogue, the country music masses continue to realize what a bright young star is blossoming before our eyes.
The latest example is “Back in the Saddle”, an anthem for anyone who is having difficulties with the end of a relationship. Written by Jordan Minton, Josh Kerr, and Jordan Reynolds, the tune provides hope and inspiration through its undeniably relatable lyrics.
“Leaving her memory in an ole dust cloud
You ditching this missing him merry go round
Baby what we say
We been drinking and we ain’t
Tryna ride off into a red sunset
This is just you and me tryna forget
Gettin’ back in the saddle”
Cooke’s vocals shine on this track, effortlessly and seamlessly capturing the emotional vibe necessary for the subject matter. It is not an easy task to perfectly communicate the passion behind a song written by someone else, but Ashley does so flawlessly from start to finish.
The Belmont University graduate was musically influenced by the likes of Rascal Flatts, Jason Aldean, and Florida Georgia Line, and her own music reflects elements of each of those artists into a diversified sound that is all her own.
“Back In the Saddle” follows “Getting Into”, an up-tempo sassy fun number that turned a lot of heads in the industry upon its release. Get used to hearing Ashley Cooke’s name as her star continues to rise in Music City and beyond.
