To say that Australian native Zoee has had only some success overseas would be a massive understatement. She’s experienced monumental success and has reached lofty goals that most others only aspire to achieve during their careers, including winning ‘Song of the Year’ 2021 at Women of Country Awards , "Best Folk Band/Duo/Group of the Year" and ‘Best Group of the Year’ at the FPCM Awards 2020, topping the Scottish New Music Charts, charting in the Top 20 on the Amazon Country Chart, and much more!

However, her 2022 relocation to Nashville saw her make an immediate mark on the country music scene stateside as she stamped down her place on the Music City landscape with her single “It Ain’t Love,” a first look at things to come from the collaborations between her and GRAMMY and CMA nominated songwriter/producer, James House that gave us a refreshing 90's country branded influence that touched on just enough modern techniques to keep this in line with today's pop driven era.

With the release date of October 14th having been announced for her highly anticipated EP Supernova, Zoee now gives us our next look at what to expect from it through her new single, “This Thing.”

Co-written by Zoee, House, and Songwriting Hall of Fame member Steve Dorff, an eyes closed/smile on her face “mmmm” as the intro gives into the song instantly sets the sultry vibe in motion and pulls you into the mid-tempo, float on the rhythm style of the instrumentation, which is perfectly designed to match the lyrics blissful feelings.

The first smile you threw my way, lit a spark in my heart,” Zoee confesses on the opening line as she drives us straight into that familiar, new love blooming emotion, combining walking on cloud 9 feelings with the anxious butterflies you naturally get as your heart begins to flutter.

Comparatives in the chorus paint pictures of the feelings that she’s experiencing as she’s trying to unclutter the flurry of positive emotions and find the right ways to define what “this thing” is that they have by singing of how it’s like fireworks on the 4th of July or a full moon on a summer night.

In contrast to the opening line of the chorus, “let’s take this soft and slow,’ the second verse shows a much steamier side of this new love when she sings:

Melted in your every kiss

Hypnotized by your eyes

Never felt a love like this

What makes a song so great is when the artist knows all the right ways to utilize their voice so that they wrap the right emotions into each word of the lyrics while perfectly defining a common feeling that we all experience. The ability to do this will always automatically give the song an instant connectiblity with the listener.

Zoee has absolutely achieved that with “This Thing,” and more importantly, she takes the buzz that has already started to swirl around her forthcoming EP and elevates it to a whole other level of excitement for what’s to still come a month down the road from now!
