As CCB Nashville continues to unleash new material from their talented artist roster every Friday in 2022 as part of their #newmusicfriday campaign, their artists continue rising to the occasion to impress as they carve out their niche within the country music scene.

As has been par for the course all year, the 4th Friday of every month offers us a new release from Jamey D, who since releasing his debut single “Workin’ My Wy Back Home” has really emerged as one to watch as his naturally gifted, raw talent has become his bold signature.

He’s leaned into an edgier sound that pulled rock kissed edges into country driven songs to allow the punch of the lyrics to shine through the gravel tilt of his voice on releases such as the mentioned debut single and “Good Girl,” but he’s also given us softer paces along the way with “By Your Side” and with his brand-new single, “Livin’ Without You.”

Breaking up is never easy, and that’s exactly what Jamey wraps his emotionally charged voice into throughout this storyteller inspired song.

You packed your bags and headed for Carolina with the Nashville skyline fading back behind ya,” he begins as the song opens, but then quickly shifts into providing the exact reason that conflict arose, “I guess you need more then my hopes and dreams.”

He continues pressing into the idea that loving a music man is a complete chore as he delves into the heartfelt reality of that tough task when he knowingly admits in the second verse, “I guess there’s just so much one heart can bear, loving a music man ain’t always fair.”

However, Jamey D really puts on a powerful showcase of his strong songwriting abilities when we slide into the chorus, which sees him fully realizing what he’s lost, understanding that his own internal struggle has arisen amid the line he’s balancing between his chasing his dreams and holding on to the one he loves, while also confessing in the hook, “I can’t go one more day, livin’ without you.”

Though Jamey D is happily married today, he clearly knows all too well what this feeling is and his heart on a sleeve emotionally charged vocal tells us that this song comes from some place he’s lived before. Because of that, there’s a stark honesty threaded throughout the song that allows it to deeply resonate with the listener’s heart as they live their own broken hearted love story alongside this one.
