Twenty-two year old blue collar country singer Shane Profitt is making a statement with the release of “How It Oughta Be”.

Baring a striking resemblance to Eric Church’s “How About You”, the song is an anthem about how he wishes and thinks life should be.  Co-written with David Frasier and Mitch Oglesby, Profitt is an old soul with traditional values and principles, and he projects those ideals in an upfront, toe-tapping melody.

Cold beer oughta be too cold to hold

Somethin’ good about somebody’s all that oughta be told

The world oughta try a piece of Mama’s chicken

Feel the love around her tabletop in the kitchen

Oughta be off your ass when that anthem gets sung

All our friends oughta live to be too old to die young

Ain’t how it is, but I believe

That’s how it oughta be

The Columbia, TN emerging artist has a hard-nosed, work to the grind mentality and that ethic is projected through his music and his on-stage demeanor.  It’s a trait that not all singer-songwriters have and something that is truly unique in today’s country music.  It is one thing to tell the stories…it’s an entirely other thing to have lived the moments that you are singing about.  Shane Profitt is a living example of how hard work and talent can lead to achieving your dreams.

“How It Ougtha Be” is part of Shane’s three-song EP titled ‘Maury County Line’, also featuring the tunes “Better Off Fishin’” and “Guys Like Me,” the latter which was co-written by country music star Chris Janson.

At the end of 2021, Profitt was working overtime at his city job, working hard and long shifts.  Less than a year later, he is writing and performing songs about his way of life and quickly garnering the well-deserved attention as a force to be reckoned with on the country music circuit by fans and critics alike.
