Blaine Holcomb first made a splash on the country music scene with his unapologetically 90’s country influenced sound; a signature that’s become even more prominent since the release of his 2021 EP Over A Beer.

With rumors swirling around of a second EP titled Lessons coming out later this year, Holcomb now amps up the anticipation as he builds steam with his newly released single “When  It Comes To Love.”

His unmistakable 90’s country influence boldly shines in many ways on this song, but Holcomb also walks just enough on the modern side of the country music line to connect with today’s listeners as catchy guitars smash into his spot-on vocal delivery as he hits on lyrics that sing us through the ultra-relatable topic of being crazy in love with the right one.

In list like fashion, he delivers lines in the verses that clearly explain all the different things that he’s 100% already set in his ways on:

“When it comes to trucks it’s a Chevy.”

“When it comes to my dog Betty, she’s gonna chew on everything.”

“When it comes to Tennessee whiskey, just a few shots will get me feeling good.”

“When it comes to coffee, it’s Folgers in a can.”

“When it comes November, it’s sitting in a deer stand.”

However, all of the things he’s listed are simply designed to pull you to the chorus where he reveals, in his own ways, that being with the right one isn’t about yourself and your ways anymore, but it’s all about them as he takes us through the memorable moments that shaped their relationship - an unexpected smile and kiss, a burnt CD she made for him, a dance while holding hands, her putting his broken heart back together, etc. - ultimately revealing that all these different moments have added up to him being in love with her as he sings in the hook,  “when it comes to love…it’s you.”

Blaine Holcomb has been riding a buzzworthy wave that has had everyone anticipating new music from him over the past few months. With “When It Comes To Love,” he meets those expectations head on and smacks home a song that pulls you in and gets you tapping your toes, while giving you a strong, relatable lyric that you can easily gravitate to; especially those who are crazy about the special someone in their own life.
