Since charting “Baby Don’t” on the Billboard Indicator and MusicRow CountryBreakout chart, Paige King Johnson has rapidly built her reputation on the back of solid song releases such as “American Beauty” and “Homes in the Hometowns,” while checking off several goals on her to do list including debuting with the popular Song Suffragettes show in Nashville.

With her full-length album Honky Tonk Heart releasing on June 3, 2022, Johnson now gives us another taste of what to expect from it with the release of “Famous Enough,” a catchy, toe-tapping song that begs to ask what success really looks like while defining the moments that equal a status where you’re famous enough.

Pitched to her from her friend and country music legend Pam Tills, and although written by outside writers (who which Paige often writes with herself), the song resonates with Johnson as it gets down to the fact that life is made up of many memorable moments, that includes chasing your dreams, but not limiting your happiness to it.

An early namecheck to Loretta in the opening lines sees Johnson painting the picture of her younger years when she was singing in the hairbrush under a ceiling fan spotlight, we’re immediately then pushed forward through the ups and downs that chasing her music dreams have brought her.

However, she inspires us when she shifts attention to appreciating what matters the most while climbing the ladder to reach your goals, defining all the simpler, little things that will truly make someone “famous enough” as she sings through the chorus:

If one of my songs makes somebody laugh

Somebody cry, somebody dance

If I can look myself in the mirror

And recognize who I am

If momma still believes in me

And dad’s still bragging round town

And if I’m in your arms when the sun goes down

If you smile like me when I wake up

Yeah, I’m famous enough

The clap along feel of the production into the final chorus gives this an audience participation moment that’s built right into the structure of song, which allows Johnson to easily incorporate it into her dynamic live shows.

However, the most important aspects of this release come in the fact that it’s another leap forward within her sound as she continues to uphold her signatures to create even more buzz around the artist to watch tag that’s been placed on her, while amping up the excitement for her upcoming album to new heights.
