Acclaimed and utterly talented singer-songwriter Cody Johnson has released “Human”, the title track off his sophomore major-label release Human The Double Album.  Offered via COJO Music / Warner Music Nashville, the tune has garnered high praise from fans, critics, and industry professionals alike.

Regarded as one of the more talented songwriters on the circuit, Johnson turns to the penned tune by Tony Lane and Travis Meadow here, telling a tale of mistakes, regret, and reflection in an introspective delivery that we have all come to expect from Cody’s music.

It’s another reminder how difficult relationship can be, the trials and tribulations we all face as human beings, and the support by loved ones that we all need at certain times in our lives. Cody is reminiscing and acknowledging the mistakes he has made, the regrets he has, and the appreciation he has for the one who stuck by his side and loved him through it all.

So far I’ve been good at burning bridges

Strike a match and ride right out of town

Bless your heart for never trying to fix me

Or quit me, or slow me down

In a world full of clever one-liners and catchy sing along anthems, country music and its fans need material from artists like Cody Johnson. It’s real, it’s honest, and it’s unapologetically vulnerable. It’s a stripped down, emotional ballad about making mistakes and asking for forgiveness. And while songs like this are not always thought of as the most fun to listen to, they are about real life….and THAT is what country music is all about.

“Human” is the second single to be released off the 18-song project of the same name, following the highly successful two-week #1 hit “Til You Can’t”.  Fans can catch Cody on the road from now through the end of the year on supporting slots, festival appearances, and headlining gigs across the country.
