When Johnny Dailey released his Dillashaw EP earlier this year, he earned an incredible amount of buzz on his insatiably modern kissed, catchy driven country as he showed us on songs such as “Trouble,” “Driving Around Song” and “Burns Like Whiskey.”

With all eyes on his next move, Dailey now returns with “Beers In It,” a perfectly built summer song that walks boldly alongside the onslaught of summer geared tunes at country radio right now, while capturing the listener with a cool, vibey groove and crisp melody that gets you swaying along with it the moment you hit play.

However, one of the things that’s really made Dailey become an artist everyone is talking about is how he knows all the ways to utilize his vocals to pull you in and get you singing along by the end of your first listen.

He expertly does that here as he uses the verses to paint perfect pictures to create the visual sides of your listening experience while placing you directly in the middle of each situation, whether that means being in a boat out on the lake or in a dusty old barroom throwing darts.

However, he very quickly hits to the point on how all those things aren’t any big deal until you add some beer to them; something he reminds us of with the last line of every verse and then again in the chorus:

It’s just a Friday night till you ice it on down with some cold can tipping

Just a long week, no sleep, till you fill it on up with what’s been missing

Just a running down a dollar, blue collar life you’re living

Till you put a few beers in it.”

The idea of a fun time out drinking is really nothing new to country music’s modern era, but party songs still have their place in country music when they are done right; this is done right!

Dailey brings each specific moment down past the surface and makes each one become not only the exact spot you want to be in once you add beer to it, but the memory you’ll hold onto for years to come as you turn any an ordinary situation into a good time party.

An artist always runs the risk of getting lost in the shuffle when it comes to summertime anthems, but Johnny Dailey is easily going to make his mark on the warmer weather months by giving us necessary catchiness, an earworm melody, a perfectly suited voice for this style, and a lyric that comes at the age-old idea from an entirely new direction. Those attributes adding together will always equal a big splash that sets the next exciting chapter in motion for an independent artist!
