CCB Nashville continues impacting country music lovers with great music from their incredible roster every week as part of their #newmusicfriday initiative for 2022. However, something truly amazing that we’ve noticed since they started doing this back in January, is how much stronger each release gets from week to week, almost as if there is a friendly competition going on between the artists to level up with each song they put out.

Jamey D, who most people recognize as the emcee of the popular Cash Creek Club Live! events, has emerged as one of CCB’s new talents that everyone needs to be adding to their ones to watch list.

A strong first outing arrived when he released his debut single “Workin’ My Way Back Home,” but he’s constantly risen to the occasion ever since and delivered great song after great song, tugging hard on emotional heart strings with “New York Don’t Need You,” while showing off his do the right thing, good guy heart of gold on “Good Girl;” something he continues to do on “By Your  Side.”

Wrapped into an incredible melody that immediately attracts your attention by leaning into the vibe of pedal steel, Jamey D brings us into the song by setting the tone when he sings, “I know friends and lovers have hurt you, they have treated you unkind, left your heart bent and bleeding…” craftily allowing this this to play out like a letter he’s written to the woman who he’s falling head over heels for.

But what Jamey D always does so well with a heart tugging song, and continues doing here, is how he uses his voice in such a delicate way that he hits the right emotional pulls while being the kind, reassurance to her that this time it will be different than what she’s always known, and that she now has someone by her side who will stand with her through the complicated wall she’s built around herself.

All I want to do is love you

All I want to do is care

I wanna wrap these ever-loving arms around

Let you know I’ll always be there

By your side

The softer toned melody fuses in perfect drops of memorable touches to keep your attention, but the very smart production choices never allow the instrumentation to lose sight of the focus on Jamey D’s emotionally charged vocals to carry you through the lyrics.

Because of this, you get another incredible song from Jamey D that that continues to showcase the power of his vocals, solid songwriting, and an uncanny ability to reach through the speakers and strike the listeners hearts.
