Kane Brown has had a tremendous past year. His featured appearance on Chris Young’s “Famous Friends” brought him to the top of the charts, as did “One Mississippi,” which earned Brown his sixth career #1 on country’s airplay chart as a lead artist.

However, and perhaps even more importantly than those accomplishments, has been Brown’s ability to create a deafening amount of buzz from his exuberant fanbase about his forthcoming album through several well-timed, well thought-out social media posts that have not only teased his new music, but also delivered a strong personal connection into who Brown is off stage as well.

As “Leave You Alone” continues to make an impact on SiriusXM’S The Highway, Brown now releases his next proper radio single with “Like I Love Country Music.”

The official follow-up to “One Mississippi” gives us a high-octane track that delivers on his promise to uphold the values of country music’s rich history, specifically the 90’s era, while paying homage to the artists who paved the way for him by namechecking several of their songs.

A boot stomping rhythm from the get-go automatically makes you leap off your bar stool and head out to the dance floor as Brown entices you with the simple command of “let’s get it” as the song begins.

From here, he totally leans the feel of the song into a 90’s country style, so much so that it refreshingly sounds like a lost track from that era, and then utilizes his incredible vocal throughout the boot heel clicking melody of the verses to sing us through song comparatives to that of how much he loves the girl that’s grabbed his heart (spoiler alert; as much as country music):

Got me like the first time I heard Alan Jackson’s Chattahoochee.”

You’re like Brooks & Dunn’s debut album, you got me feeling like I’m a brand-new man.”

However, as much as the feel of the song sticks to a 90’s country tilt, when he blasts us into the two-stepping rhythm of the chorus he cleverly shifts to singing comparatives about her and the way she’s making him feel to that of icons of country music rather than the 90’s era:

“You get me high as Willie, girl.”

“You get me gone as Jones.”

“Let’s take our time, walk the line, kinda like Johnny and June did.

Splice in a quick appearance from Ronnie Dunn chiming in on vocals, and smash that together with the irresistible throwback styled melody and incredible buzz that Kane Brown already has surrounding him, and you’re easily looking at his next chart topper with “Like I Love Country Music,” and quite possibly his fastest rising song to date!
