Country music star Chris Young will release his highly anticipated Famous Friends (Deluxe Edition) on June 3rd, and he has just treated fans to the first track off the project, “Everybody Needs a Song”.

Perhaps seen by some as an unlikely collaboration, Young’s latest single features Old Dominion, and the result is an incredibly catchy and nostalgic tune that incorporates signature sounds that have made both hugely popular artists over the years.

The song leans heavy on the hits from the past that paint a picture in your mind, incorporating everyone from Garth Brooks to Tom Petty.  Candidly, this track reflects what we have come to expect from Old Dominion rather than Chris Young, but both shine in their respective verses and come together on the chorus to create what will most likely be a summer soundtrack favorite.

Yeah, we all need a “Thunder Road” to make the wheels roll down the highway

Yeah, we all need a “Sweet Home Alabama” when you wanna play air guitar

A little “Lean On Me” when you need a friend

“Won’t Back Down” when you need to be strong

At the end of the day, man, everybody needs a song

With this release, along with the upcoming project next month, Young continues to expand his musical boundaries; from “Famous Friends” with Kane Brown to “At the End of a Bar” with Mitchell Tenpenny, while also producing or co-producing all twenty songs on this upcoming album, he is establishing himself as one of the more prominent country artists on the circuit.

Fans can catch Young live across the country at fairs and special events, as well as some of the biggest festivals in the nation.  As for Old Dominion, they will once again be a part of Kenny Chesney’s “The Here And Now Tour”.
