Riding high on the tremendous success of their song “Somebody Does,” sister-duo Tigirlily has just released “My Thang” - their first commercial release since signing with Monument Records.

Written by Kendra and Krista (Tigirlily) and their label mate Walker Hayes (“You Broke Up With Me”), the catchy, pop country melody instantly gives this song a wonderful summertime feel as its lyric looks at both sides of the coin that real life situations will inevitably present to us, but how when you can see right down the middle of any of them, you can see that you’ll be okay no matter what.

Some of the contrasting lines of the lyrics include: “barely making rent or killing it at work,” “top of the shelf or cheap margaritas,” “Swept off my feet, swiping on Tinder,” “Feeling pretty, or pretty ugly,” Etc…

The chorus gives us that sway along with groove that every good summer tilted song needs to have as it sits together with the ultra-positive lyric that encourages to keep doing “my thang” whether anyone else likes it or not – in other words, the curve balls of life aren’t going to knock me off my course.

Standing out amongst a crowded country music scene with a new single is no easy task - especially for a new act. It takes a lot of different things mixing together to make it happen. With “My Thang,” Tigirlily has found all the right ingredients to capture our attention. This is playful, bouncy, and slightly quirky, but it’s also the positive dose of energy that everyone needs right now.

This is a really strong outing from one of country music’s most promising up and coming acts, and it wouldn’t come as a shock to see “My Thang” finding it’s way into the Top 40 in the coming weeks.
