HEATH SANDERS
& JUSTIN MOORE
"Raised On Red"
Valory Music Co.
“Raised On Red”, the new single from Heath Sanders and Justin Moore, was released on April 8th via The Valory Music Company.
The song is an ode to an upbringing and way of life shockingly similarly shared by Heath and Justin, both born and bred in Arkansas. Written by Sanders along with Dawson Edwards and Houston Phillips, the tune has been a fan favorite at live shows for years, and will now be exposed to a much wider country music audience, along with Moore’s trademark vocals accompanying the recorded version.
It is an unapologetic anthem about holding on tight to the traditional values that were a part of one’s upbringing. While it may seem backward or outdated to some, the lifestyle has shaped these two into the hard working, internally honest country music entertainers they have become.
“The good Lord could chose any color
To paint the sky where the sunset sits
The good book, yeah he made sure
It’s on every word that was ever His
It comes right before, white and blue
I ain’t ever heard it any other way”
For Sanders, “Raised On Red” serves as a bit of an introduction to the larger country music mainstream masses. Named as one of Pandora’s 2021 Country Artists To Watch, releases like this will continue to escalate him to the next level of country stardom.
Meanwhile, this track promises to be another fan favorite for Justin, who has dropped some monster singles over his successful career including “Small Town USA”, “The Ones That Didn’t Make It Back Home”, and “Why We Drink”. With 10 chart-topping tunes and an expected announcement of new music this year, fans can expect to hear much more from Moore in the not-too-distant future.
