As a songwriter, Brantley Gilbert received a huge push when Jason Aldean landed “My Kinda Party” and “Dirt Road Anthem” inside the top 5 – the latter earning the #1 position.

As tourmates, Brantley Gilbert and Jason Aldean wowed audiences and challenged each other night in and night out to elevate their game to new heights.

So, when it was announced earlier this year that Gilbert and Aldean would be teaming up for a song together, the anticipation immediately soared through the roof.

“Rolex® On A Redneck” is that teased about song, and it’s now been unleashed to the country music faithful.

Written during a writer’s retreat by Gilbert, Brock Berryhill, Michael Hardy, Randy Montana and Taylor Phillips, it comes at a time when his current single “How To Talk To Girls” is making its way to radio and impacting the charts, which is combining to create a substantial amount of buzz for the new music that Gilbert is currently working on.

The mood of the pop driven backbeat of “Rolex® On A Redneck” recalls a similar vibe like we heard on 2017’s The Devil Don’t Sleep, perfectly encompassing the grit and gravel of the signature rock kissed, swampy vibe that has allowed Gilbert’s voice to become the radio staple it is.

Brantley sings us through the opening verse of this soon to be country boy anthem, upholding his rural roots as he sings of being a hard-working, nose to the grind, blue-collar type so as to earn the money that allows him to be “the Warren Buffett” of the small-town, relaying throughout the chorus all the things that this mission allows him to do such as lifting his truck, owning a Yeti cooler full of longnecks, wrapping his Benelli firearm in camo, wearing gator skinned boots, etc.

Aldean tackles the second the verse and touches on some deeper topical subjects, although still centered around having money, but giving the song a depth as he sings of having a barn on a piece of land, giving the Lord his 10% on Sunday mornings, etc.

Though this type of subject matter really isn’t anything too new for Gilbert, there’s the exciting added touch of having it be him and Jason Aldean collaborating which helps give a new spin to the old idea and it certainly meets the anticipation head on.

There are two theories in Nashville as to how an artist moves forward from where they’re at to where they’re heading; completely push the envelope and do something so off the wall that it becomes a risk or stay in your comfort zone and elevate it ever so slightly by dipping into what you do best and pulling new threads through it. Gilbert and Aldean have done the latter and delivered a power pack anthem squarely bent on satisfying each of their strong fan bases.
