Wade Bowen released his latest EP, Where Phones Don’t Work on November 19th, 2021.  Following “When Love Comes Around” is his latest offering, “Phones Don’t Work”, an eerily catchy sing-along track with a somber undertone.

Written by Bowen along with Aaron Raitiere and Rhett Atkins, “Phones Don’t Work” is a simple take on a very common theme.  It’s about getting away from your ex after a breakup.

This is a classic Wade Bowen tune – a true, real take on a widely popular subject matter with the authentic feel of what we have come to expect from the traditional country crooner.

I don’t know how many miles it’s gonna take

All I know is I ain’t hitting no brakes

‘Til I’m way past the place where it don’t hurt

Where she can’t call me

And I can’t call her

Hell, I don’t care

Anywhere phones don’t work

In a genre full of modern country singers, Wade Bowen is an unapologetically American Texas Country / Red Dirt singer to the core, and with every song released and every show played, he embraces that label through his honest approach to the music he makes and songs he sings.

His songwriting is timeless, which is evident on his latest release.  As the common fact is known – there’s country music and then there’s country music in Texas.  True to the core is Wade Bowen and “Phones Don’t Work”.
