As hard as it is to believe, Joe Nichols’ music career has reached an astounding 25 years on the country radio circuit.  From his 1996 self titled debut album to his 2017 record ‘Never Gets Old’, the Rogers, Arkansas native has maintained relevancy in the always-evolutionary market that is country music.

Throughout his career, Nichols has been able to keep the listener entertained with his variety of slow, heartfelt (even somber) tunes like “Brokenheartsville” and “If Nobody Believed In You”, and upbeat dance numbers like “Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off” and “Gimmie That Girl”.

Joe’s latest single, “Home Run”, leans more towards the former category, themed by reminiscing and longing to change his way of everyday life.  It’s a subject we can certainly all relate to, the conflict between we’re doing, what we should be doing, and what really matters.

From opening line of the first chorus, “Life’s been coming at me like a fastball”, the song immediately grabs the listener’s attention with relatable phrasing, while the chorus offers inspiration to slow down, taken in life and focus on those most important to us:

“I’ll be touching bases with them faces

All them places

I aint’ been too in way too long”

Written by award-winning songwriters Ashley Gorley, Dallas Davison, and Ross Copperman, this song promises to be another chart-climber for Nichols, who maintains his relevancy as one of the mainstays in the country music genre for almost 3 decades.
