Critically-acclaimed Canadian country singer-songwriter Tenille Townes has released a brand new single, the ever-personal and honest “Villain In Me”.

This latest release continues to cement her reputation as an incredibly invocative storyteller, offering a personal insight into internal feelings and emotions that are felt by so many but unable to be expressed by most.

“Villain In Me” is not the upbeat, catchy track that immediately excites the listener to get up and move, but for fans of storytelling and lyrical ingenuity and honesty, there may be no better recent release than this one.

“The voice that I don’t wanna hear, the hurtful words I say

The long list of things about myself I wanna change

The heavy cloud that won’t leave even after it rains

I try to be a hero ‘til it brings me to my knees

Yeah, there’s a villain in me”

Co-written with Alex Hope, who also produced the track, “Villain In Me” follows the ACM Award winner’s release “Girl Who Didn’t Care,” which was released earlier this year to high praise.

Tenille’s debut album, ‘The Lemonade Stand’ was subject to critical acclaim, and rightfully so, featuring the hit songs “White Horse”, “Jersey On The Wall (I’m Justin Asking)”, “The Most Beautiful Things”, and “Come As You Are”.  She has been on the road this past summer and fall with Brothers Osborne on their We’re Not For Everyone Tour.  She has also recently announced her first ever headlining U.S. tour as well as supporting dates for George Strait and Reba in 2022.
