Whether it’s from his hit television show Hoge Wild on the Sportsman Channel, or because of his album Dirty South rocketing up the Billboard Country Album Sales chart to the #1 position, Lucas Hoge has become quite the well-known name among the country music community.

His newest single “Get Lost” continues to boldly stamp home his name, while also delivering the catchiness that perfectly suits the familiar summertime feel that’s become synonymous with country music.

“Get Lost” is all about taking your crushing on someone to the next flirtatious level. Lyrically, there is the whole go out and get lost in the country on a dirt road type of feel to this, but Hoge is smart to never fully cross into that familiar, been there done that territory, which helps give this song a unique vibe.

Descriptive lyrics instantly help show us their contradicting personalities and set the tone for where the song is heading; he’s a whiskey straight, ball cap, and skoal ring type, while she’s California red, uptown shine, with a country side that she’s hidden deep inside - which coincidently is the side of her that he is going to coax out as they go for a drive and “get lost.”

The second verse really elevates this next level flirting, but in a very playful way as he sings lines such as: “kiss you slow on the hood of my car,” “turn them headlights off,” and “soak up every drop with the moonlight shining, lose a little track of time.”

With every new single, Lucas Hoge achieves tremendous success at secondary radio. However, “Get Lost” might be the song that earns him a strong Top 40 with the major market stations. Only time will tell if this happens for Hoge, but regardless, this is a song that needs to be added to your summertime playlists.
