With her forthcoming album BAYTOWN set for release on September 24, 2021, RaeLynn gives us our next peak into what we can expect from it with her new song “Only In A Small Town.”

You’re introduced to a slick guitar riff through the intro that has you clapping along before it gives way to a sway-along melody that allows RaeLynn to utilize her vocals to float you through the picture painting lyrics of the small-town way of life.

She describes the small-town as the type of place where there isn’t any cell phone bars, there’s more trucks than cars, and somewhere that you fry what you eat and drink sweet tea.

But she doesn’t stop there!

She brings you to the places around town such as Walmart on a Saturday night or a Mickey D’s where you may run into a girl decked out in Real Tree gear, but she also brings straight into specific memory making moments such as a back woods first kiss and getting your first buzz while catching your first fish.

As is the case with any small town, RaeLynn doesn’t steer away from the drama that comes with living in one either as she mentions hosting a baby shower for her best friend, who just so happened to get knocked up by her ex-boyfriend who is now in jail.

This song is catchy, sassy, and is a perfect representation of an album that RaeLynn has said will be more personal than anything she’s done in the past. However, it also continues to dig deeper into who she is and where she comes from, but most importantly, it accentuates all the signatures that define her uniqueness as an artist.
