KENNY CHESNEY - Wherever You Are Tonight - Blue Chair Records/Warner Music Nashville

The self-proclaimed hillbilly rockstar himself, Kenny Chesney is set to take the country music world by storm in 2024, with the release of his first full collection of new music in four years along with a nationwide stadium tour through the summer.

His latest grat track, “Wherever You Are Tonight,” is available now digitally and on all streaming platforms via Warner Music Nashville.

Over the years, the East Tennessee native has won the hearts of so many fans due to his ability to intertwine light-hearted, feel-good anthems with sentimental, thought-provoking ballads.  His latest tune is a piano-grounded ode to those who are no longer with us in person, but their memory and spirit remains in our hearts and minds forever.

As is with all songs on his albums, “Wherever You Are Tonight” connected with Kenny on a personal level, enticing him to record the tune.

“The thing about this song that struck me,” Chesney said, “is that idea people we love never truly leave us.  We can’t see them, or know where they go after they pass on, but everything we shared remains…who we are because of them, that doesn’t change.”

Written by GRAMMY-winner Mike Reid and three-time Songwriter of the Year Gary Burr, this is not a song of grief or sadness, but rather a celebration of experience and memory, shining a light on the power of life-changing relationships.  It’s a beautifully-written tune, delivered in the down-to-earth, heart-on-the-sleeve nature that only a gifted recording artist like Chesney can, which he has done time and time again.

“I am better now for who you were

You always found the truth in me

More patient than this world deserves

Everything a friend should be

If heaven is our final destination

The love we leave behind is our salvation”

“Wherever You Are Tonight” follows lead radio single “Take Her Home”, as well as notable efforts “Just To Say We Did”, “Thinkin’ Bout”, and “Guilty Pleasure”.  Chesney’s mainstay power is nearly unmatched in today’s music industry, having released more than 20 albums with over 40 Top 10 singles, including 32 of those hitting the top spot.

Chesney’s Sun Goes Down Tour kicks off in under a month in Tampa on April 20th.  The eight-time entertainer of the year will hit 18 cities across the U.S. along with a star-studded lineup of Zac Brown Band, Megan Moroney, and Uncle Kracker.
