TYLER HUBBARD - A Lot With A Little - EMI Nashville
Tyler Hubbard has continued to be a force at the forefront of country music since taking the solo route, hitting the #1 position out the gate “5 Foot 9” and “Dancin’ In The Country,” while currently making strong impact and still rising with a bullet on his latest single, “Back Then Right Now.”
Bearing resemblance to the feel that we’re getting from his current release, Hubbard peels back another layer of simple life aura to further tease his forthcoming sophomore album with the new song, “A Lot With A Little.”
Co-written by Tyler, Casey Brown, and Parker Welling, the song leans into the idea of savoring every moment of the here and now as he twists through a romantic ode that’s sings of how a moonlit drive in the country is all that they really need to make a memory filled night.
Flavored with expected pop laced backbeats and ultra-modern country vibes, Hubbard delivers picture painting lyrics as the sun begins setting on the day (“pinholes in a tin-can sky” and “stars shinin’ like diamonds”) while musing on how he wishes he could bottle up this very moment, just before slipping into the catchy, sing along chorus where he embraces the optimistic positive of what they can do with the right here right now as the daylight succumbs to night:
“Still got a little moonlight
Still got a little windin' road
Still got a little all-night
Left in the throttle
Yeah, girl, we got a little
Love song on the radio dial
Bench-seat smile while you slide in the middle
And steal a little kiss on a night like this
Me and you can do a lot with a little”
Metaphorically smiling through the speakers as he drives through the second verse and deepens the idea of things still to come, he completes his feel-good heartbeat thought as he envisions the romantic flare that could ignite between the two of them on their moonlight drive, suggesting that “one look could light one spark and set the whole truck on fire.”
Tyler Hubbard is obviously recognized for his artist talent, but behind that guise has always been a songwriter who absolutely knows his audience, writes for them, and uses just enough poetry within his lyrics to make them stand out while keeping them simple and to the point so that they reach through the airwaves to touch the right heartstrings and resonate on a high plain.
This formula has worked for him since the earliest days of Florida-Georgia Line, and it continues to work for him now as we see on the uber-relatable, “A Lot With A Little,” grabbing hold of the couples who need a reminder to take each little moment their given and turn it into their next memory.
