TREY CALLOWAY - Wanted Man - Independent Release

North Carolina native Trey Calloway is continuing the trend of guitar heavy, rock-infused country releases with the announcement of his new single, “Wanted Man”, available digitally and on all streaming platforms now.

Being introduced to the genre via Garth Brooks, the now Nashville-based Calloway has also been heavily influenced by the likes of Clint Black, Alan Jackson, and Travis Tritt.  Their up-tempo, boot-stomping melodies resonated with Trey as he was beginning his country music career, and that fandom and passion has remained imbedded in the rising singer-songwriter’s mind as he continues his ascension as a name to know in country music.

The song hits hard from start to finish, incorporating the elements of rock with a touch of blues and a southern twist to keep the toes tapping and heads bobbing for the full three minutes.  Heavy riffs powerfully supported by a simple, strong melody immediately engage the listener, while the vocals are gruff and tough, clear and direct, and force us to take a deep breath after the song ends.

Having grown up on 90’s country, the elements of that incredibly influential generation flow freely through the track, from the arrangement to the melody to the lyrics.  While on the surface, this tune may sound aggressive and heavy, the underly sensitivities that we all love about this genre pack their own punch, including the vulnerable adaptation of the words he sings through the verses and cultivating in the chorus.

The buzz is real for Trey and his refreshing throwback rock sound.  Can we call this traditional country rock?  If so, that is exactly what fans are loving, as we’ve seen the NC native garner hundreds of thousands of streams on his social platforms.  And while he is consistently on the road playing headlining gigs, he also is also playing for bigger audiences while sharing the stage with the likes of Tracy Lawrence, Pat Green, and Craig Campbell, among others.

Spending his days writing and his nights singing and performing, Calloway continues to make a name for himself as an artist to keep an eye on, with his rock-edge sound accompanied by his homage to 90’s classic delivery and sentimentally-clever lyrics showcased through powerful vocals.  “Wanted Man” joins a list of well-crafted, superbly-executed songs that are collectively culminating in a well diverse, impressive musical catalogue.
