MATT ROGERS - Tea Was A Little Sweeter - ONErpm

Georgia native and TCM Class of 2022 artist Matt Rogers has released his latest single, “Tea Was a Little Sweeter.”  The nostalgic anthem is available digitally and on all streaming platforms now via ONErpm Distribution.

From sitting on the front porch with his grandparents to enjoying a summer night under the stars with the girl next door, Rogers’ latest single is a trip down memory lane, tugging at the heart strings of the teenager in all of us.  Refusing to shy away from his southern style upbringing, the award-winning songwriter brings us all home with him to see first-hand what it was like growing up in his home state of Georgia.

And while he has moved on with this life, his hometown still holds a special place in his heart, something to which we can all relate.

“When I look back there ain’t much changed

From where I used to be

And even though I’m not there

It still lives inside of me”

With its clean cut, simple yet undeniably catchy melodies, along with the down-home sing-along lyrics, this tune is meant for country radio.  Matt’s strong, rich vocals soar across the verses and pack an emotionally-charged punch in the choruses, while the predictable hooks and riffs throughout add for a pleasant, toe-tapping listen.

“Tea Was A Little Sweeter” follows “Rush” and “South Dakota Sky,” released earlier this year.  He has been on the road consistently throughout 2023, with a slew of dates still listed on his calendar.

Matt’s love for the stage and energetic live show has propelled him to incredible opportunities, including sharing the stage with some of the biggest stars in country music, from Chris Stapleton to Jake Owen to Brothers Osborne, among countless others.

Certainly not to be outdone by his on-stage performing is his undeniable writing ability.  Rogers has won 17 songwriter awards for his songs “Coal,” “She Was Everything,” and “I Was Raised,” each of which has played its part in garnering the attention the talented Georgia native deserves from the country music community.  With an impressive tour calendar and a seemingly endless string of tunes to add to his music catalogue, Matt Rogers is setting himself up to be a mainstay on the music scene for the foreseeable future.
