ROBYN OTTOLINI
"All My Friends Are Hot"
Empire Nashville
Though “F-150” and “Trust Issues” solidified Canadian country sensation Robyn Ottolini as an emerging talent who has absolutely arrived, these past sixth months have expertly strengthened the foundations for her exciting next chapter with hot song releases “Match For My Memory,” “Katie’s Song,” and “Sad To Work.”
After announcing the release date of her highly anticipated Growing Up To Do EP this past weekend (October 27, 2023), she then delivered the lead single with fan favorite, “All My Friends Are Hot.”
This fun-loving anthem, co-written by Robyn and Emily Reid, is an ultra-catchy, super playful look at the flirtatious nature of guys whenever they see a group of good-lookin’ girlfriends out on the town, but it more so places its strong emphasis on Robyn’s continual praise of how awesomely hot all her friends are.
“I know you want her number cause everybody wants her number,” she knowingly states in the opening line of the song, setting everything in motion as she tilts her sass through each of the verses to spotlight the likeable qualities of her circle of friends, sharing how “one will hold your hair back, “one will hold your beer,” and that “one will tell you he ain't worth a broken heart.”
Continuing to shower praises over her confident group of girlfriends, she injects the chorus with a fist pumping rhythm that induces an instant sing along:
“All my friends, are stone-cold tens
Tongues get tied when they walk in
God bless the guys, who buy them drinks
'Cause they turn around and give 'em straight to me
All my friends, they know their worth
And lucky for me I ain't insecure
If they're top shelf then I'm top shelf
What the hell?
I don't care if I'm not, 'cause if I'm not
Well all my friends are hot
All my friends are hot”
However, Ottolini doesn’t just leave you looking at this awesome group of friends from the outside in, but she rather invites you to become a part of it, giving this song an instant connectibility factor for her female listening demographic as she sings in the bridge, “The more the merrier, come on in…You got a pretty heart, you'll fit right in.”
Tremendous amount of buzz surrounding Ottolini’s newest offerings and high praise for her support role on Shania Twain’s tour this past summer, couples snuggly with the first release from this new EP already being a proven smash with her exuberant fanbase to perfectly position Robyn at the starting line as her next chapter is about to take off.
