Carly Pearce grew up in Taylor Mill, Kentucky, playing music at church and as part of a bluegrass band.  At the age of 19, she moved to Nashville, TN in hopes of achieving her dream of being a country music artist.

Flash forward to 2023, she is a CMT Award winner, Grammy Award winner, three-time CMA Award winner, a four-time ACM Award winner, and a member of the Grand Ole Opry.  Carly Pearce is one of the biggest stars in all of country music.  Lucky for us, she remains as motivated as she was when she first moved to town, consistently writing, releasing and performing music for the masses.

Her brand-new single, “Country Music Made Me Do It,” is available everywhere now via Big Machine Records.

Throughout the course of her experience in Nashville, first as a songwriter then a singer and a performer, Pearce has mastered her craft and found her niche in the industry.  Her ability to infuse elements of traditional country, along with her signature vocal delivery, lend itself to the more conservative country music stylists while also ushering in some more modern vibes that keep the younger, newer audience enthused.  “Country Music Made Me Do It” is a love song written by Pearce to the genre that has helped her through the good times and bad times, knocked her down but picked her back up, and has made her who she is today.

This song is ingeniously written because it literally appeals and applies to anyone and everyone associated with country music.  For fans, media, artists, and everyone in between, we all have our own relationship with music.  For all of us, no matter the capacity or perspective, we listen to and apply music dependent on what is happening in our lives.  Her ability to tap into her listeners’ hearts and minds and find that relatability across her wide range of fans is impeccably accomplished with this track, from the lyrics to the instrumentation to her trademark delivery.

“Out of a small town into a ballgown

Picking me up every time that I fall down

Everything that I’ve done wrong or I’ve done right

Country music made me do it

And I’ll do it till I die”

It’s an upbeat, sing-along track of a tongue-in-cheek nature, but offering the fans a glimpse into Pearce’s past and how impacted she has been by the genre that she has called home long before she left her native Kentucky.  It’s beautifully and craftily written, and delivered with the powerful elegance of any trademark Carly Pearce tune.

Pearce has been undoubtedly one of the busiest artists in country music in recent years, and that trend shows no signs of changing over the next year.  Having recently announced her North American headlining COUNTRY MUSIC MADE ME DO IT TOUR, she will hit 10+ cities from October 5 through November 18 with special guests Adam Doleac and Hannah Ellis on select dates. She will then be the special guest, serving as direct support, on Tim McGraw’s STANDING ROOM ONLY tour which kicks off on March 14, 2024.
